Rookie Senator Ted Cruz holds up FCC nomination

Ted Wheeler is an infinitely qualified candidate for Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission. But in a not so surprising move, The rookie Senator from Texas placed a hold on his nomination out of fear that Wheeler supports a policy to require campaign adds to include information on who is paying for them.
Something the GOP and Tea Party hard liners are adamantly against.

Of course they are against it. Unlike many Democratic candidates, including our current President, who's money comes mostly from large quantities of small donors spread among all demographics, the GOP and especially the Tea Party candidates receive the vast majority of their campaign contributions from a much narrower spectrum of wealthy donors and Super PACs. And they don't want the American public and, more importantly the voters,  to know that much less hear about it any time they see a campaign add funded almost exclusively by a few super wealthy backers.

If voters did get this information they would almost certainly begin to put together the fact that the Tea Party is not the party of the people, but they party of the super wealthy. And the super wealthy donors, Like Charles and David Koch, don't want their names plastered on every add they fund. That would lead to the Tea Party supporters realizing they are not supporting a grass roots movement, but rather a new world order with an American royal class at the top and the vast majority of us at the bottom.

GOP takes massive loses to gain the Tea Party a microscopic gain

The government shutdown showdown was a colossal loss for the GOP according to all credible sources. But there might have been a very small bump in the polls for some Tea Party candidates in their home districts for their David vs Goliath  Bambi vs Godzilla tactics in recent weeks.

Tea Party pundits are lauding over the poll bumps as a victory for the little people. The only problem with that logic is that the gains were all in districts were the Tea Party and/or GOP were already solidly in the majority and in no danger of losing an election to a Democrat.

So why is the Tea Party so excited about these gains? Because it means in many of those districts the Tea Party is that much more likely to be able to take seats away from non-Tea Party republicans.

The Showdown was not about overthrowing Obamacare or the Democratic party or even the Presidency. It was about overthrowing the Republican party. And it seems to have worked.

The Republicans surrender unconditionally

So the Tea Party strategy to defund Obamacare has failed miserably and not only that, they GOP has also had to surrender every single concession they asked for, and were going to receive, back in early September. The only thing the republicans got in this whole fiasco was a 14 point drop in the polls and an almost certain Democratic victory in the 2014 elections.

Yes, there was one minscule change to Obamacare requiring harder standards for determining income for people applying for healthcare coverage at the exchanges, but this really was something the Democratic caucus was trying to get changed anyway, so it's not a victory for the GOP, just a minor face saving measure so they can claim some microscopic victory to the few voters they still have backing them.

They also got the talks on the budget they wanted, but they were going to get that anyway. The Democrats in both houses and President Obama had told them that if they open up the Government and raise the debt ceiling they could negotiate on any subject and any law...except now, because the GOP dragged the shutdown out so long that their approval ratings were down to 3 Tea Party members in backwater Nebraska, the talks the GOP wanted are now being conducted under rules and guidelines outlined by the Democratic party. This means that when the final budget negotiations come out on December 13th it will likely have far more concessions for the Democratic party than the GOP. Tea Party concessions in light of the recent tantrum that cost the American people over 20 billion dollars will likely be few if any. And any more changes to Obamacare are most certainly off the table now that polls show support for Obamacare on the rise.

So what did the Tea Party learn from all this? Likely nothing. They will almost certainly try to block the next budget proposal if it contains any Democratic concessions and they will likely do the same with the Debt ceiling on February 7th. The Tea Party agenda is to shut down the Federal Government and reduce our country to local governments run by the wealthy and oppressing the poor. So while they failed to crash the country's economy completely, they did manage to throw us into another deep recession. And you can bet their wealthy donors got more wealthy during the crisis because they knew it was coming. They likely planned it.

So did the GOP learn anything from this? Sure, they learned not to trust their Tea Party fundamentalists. They learned that they are going to have to fight super hard to keep their seats in the next election, even in districts where a Democrat stands no chance of winning because the Tea Party is coming for everyone. Democrats and Republicans alike. They learned that they are not one party, but two parties split not on ideological grounds, but on strategic grounds. The GOP are old school master strategists and the Tea Party are the new, impatient renegades that will use suicide missions and berserker tactics with no thought of if they can win or not, only what damage they can do to the enemy. In this case the enemy is America. The enemy is us and the Tea Party is coming for us.

Remind you of anyone?
Maybe...the Taliban?

House GOP sabotages bi-partisan Senate Negotiations

So after the House GOP got what it said it wanted, negotiations on the budget and spending before re-opening the Government, they deliberately sabotaged those efforts today as the negotiations closed in on a deal that both sides were happy with in the Senate.

Now the House is going to try and pass a plan that will almost certainly not pass the Senate and would definitely be vetoed by the President. They are attaching a absurd clause to the a bill they are drafting that would remove the treasury's authority to use "Extraordinary measures" to avoid defaulting on the debt should the Republicans decide they want to use the Debt ceiling as a hostage again in February.

See without this clause, the Republicans can't extort more concessions from the Democrats until late in the summer which would mean too close to the 2014 elections for the GOP's comfort. Especially considering they have taken a double digit hammering in the polls for using it as a tool of extortion the past few weeks.

They want to get this debacle behind them and let people "forget" that they started this and renew the fight in January, but rest assured they have a plan in place already to make it look like the Democrats and Whitehouse want to default on the Debt this time. Or at lest they think the American people are that stupid.

They will say "We tried to raise the Debt ceiling and the Democrats said no!"
When in reality they are making sure that the bill that goes to the floor tonight is impossible for the Senate to accept, but want the American people to be unclear as to why.

Make no mistake. The GOP is trying to make the U.S. default and  they are trying to make sure it gets pinned on the Democrats.

GOP and Tea Party bullies get hammered in budget negotiations.

The GOP got their wish. They are negotiating the budget and raising the debt ceiling under massive pressure now that they have dropped 10-15 points in the polls because of their extortionist antics.

But the pressure is not on the Democrats to negotiate, it's on the GOP for getting the country into this mess in the first place. Having turned down the President's magnanimous offer to raise the debt ceiling and approve the budget clean and then negotiate on equal footing, the GOP now get's to negotiate a deal with the voters breathing down their necks and will likely not only not get any of the concessions they wanted, they will now have to give concessions to the Democrats who are now negotiating from a place of extreme strength.

This is what happens when you bluff at cards and the other side knows you're bluffing. You lose.

And of course this is all the fault of the Tea Party lead by their favorite son, jr. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas. The Democrats and the GOP had a deal they had struck after spending most of 2013 in negotiations. Both sides agreed to pass a clean budget and a debt ceiling and the Democrats agreed to leave sequestor cuts in place, take the GOPs number for the budget and basically give them all they asked for.

Then the Tea Party got involved and jr Senator Ted Cruz drew a line in the sand. He decided he wanted to get rid of the Affordable Healthcare Act of 2010. A task all of his senior Senators, fellow Republicans in the House and even some or most of his own Tea Party told him was an impossible goal. But he decided to do it anyway and the ill advised, poorly planned and horribly executed offensive against the AHA began with no exit strategy and an unobtainable goal.

Now that it has failed completely and cause untold grief in the lives of tens of millions of U.S. citizens, the GOP has no bargaining chips left. Holding the budget and the debt ceiling hostage has only wrecked their approval ratings making them the lowest in any parties history. If they actually cause a default in the U.S.'s debt then it's a sure bet that the GOP will lose the House by a large margin in the 2014 elections and widen the Democrats gap of power in the Senate. So the GOP has to not only surrender their position on Obamacare, it's likely they will have to give the Democrats some of the budget numbers back and maybe even lose or reduce the sequestration due to eat another $21 billion from the budget in January. The only concession of merit the GOP is likely to get is the ability to say they got their "Serious talks" before they had to reopen the government and those talks amounted to a staggering loss on their part.

I hope the Tea Party takes this lesson to heart and realizes that taking America hostage is never a good idea.

The Tea Party terrorists refuse to allow any negotiating in the Senate

This weekend the talks between Democrats and Republicans came to s standstill in the House and was taken up by the Senate.

Talks were said by both sides to be going very well. The Democrats wanted to extend the debt ceiling to after the 2014 elections, the Republicans wanted to extend it only a few weeks so it can be used as a pressure point for extortion  ,uh, "negotiations" again soon. The Democrats wanted to extend the budget until March so the Government could reopen now and give us breathing room to have extensive talks on the multitude of topics the Republicans wanted to talk about regarding bringing the debt under control and the Republicans wanted to only fund the Government as long as some of their "wish list" demands are met before the Government was opened up again. A stipulation that the Democrats and the President said will not happen, but even so, the Democrats agreed to attach one of the Republicans demands to reopening the Government, a repeal of the 2.3% medical equipment tax, but in return they wanted the Sequestration to have a deadline in January to give congress time to talk about changing it so that it does not remove a flat 5% of budgetary items across the board and give more manuverability for States to decide how the 5% cuts would go into effect. The Republicans then cried foul and said the Democrats are trying to humiliate their party by asking for something in return for a concession to reopen the government and extend the debt ceiling.

In other words, the Tea Party Terrorists have made their play. Just days before the Debt ceiling is set to be breached, the Tea Party brings in another headline they will ride until the government goes into default.

"The Democrats are asking for a tiny little bit of breathing room to negotiate! We can't have this! They are trying to destroy the American way!"

This is what the Tea Party wants. Not the "Serious discussion" Speaker Beohner said was all they wanted. They got that. They have had a solid week of serious discussion. Still they insist on keeping the Government closed until the Democrats agree in advance to all their demands before any negotiation on those issues can take place.

No. The Tea Party wants the government to collapse so the wealthy donors that back them can do what they want when they want with no regard for the safety of the rest of us. Their intent is to turn free citizens into impoverished slaves. And they are going to get their way if we do not vote the Tea Party Terrorists out of office forever..

Ted Cruz says he wants to Destroy the World

In an interview with CCN's Candy Crowly, jr. Senator Ted Cruz (Republican) Texas, had the following to say.

"I don't want my children and my children's children to live in a world with Obamacare. And the best way to guarantee that is by destroying the world."

http://guardianlv.com/2013/10/ted-cruz-cons-the-people-and-the-republican-party/

So simply put. If Obamacare id allowed to exist, Ted Cruz wants to destroy the world.

Ted Cruz had declared his self the mortal enemy of the entire world.

Did the GOP unconditionally surrender?

Earlier this week Majority House leader Speaker John Boehner assured the press that any extension of the Debt ceiling without concessions was "Unconditional surrender" on the part of the Republican House. But just today he met with President Obama on doing exactly that.

Why?

Because the Republican party knows that a breach of the debt ceiling would have wide reaching consequences to the economy of not just the United States, but to most of the world. And the GOP would be the ones to take the blame.

The Tea Party, now mysteriously silent including the Jr. Senator from Texax, Ted Cruz, whom started this whole mess by starting a fight his fellow party mates told him was impossible to win.

But the President, whom has been publicly saying for a week now that he would accept a short term extension of the debt ceiling to avoid a crisis while the two sides negotiate, congenially allowed the Speaker of the House to take credit for the plan to kick the debt ceiling down the road as if he had just thought of it today.

The Republican party and more specifically the Tea Party have been telling the press for two weeks that the President refuses to negotiate when all he has been saying the whole time is that he will negotiate on ANY issue, he would accept the GOP's numbers on the budget and he would talk about any subject if the House would please not be total dick heads and shut down the government or if they would please stop crying like 4 year olds that were told it was time for a bath and reopen the government. He said he would negotiate. He said he would talk. He just can't do it with a gun to his head or it will subject every president for the rest of time to a precedent of negotiating under threats of destroying America if a tiny minority of one faction does not get 100% of what they want all the time.

Let's hope the GOP sticks to their deal and don't try to attach anything to the debt hike. And that one day they allow the government to reopen and stop blaming the President for something he had no hand in.

Why hostage taking is a terrible negotiating position.

When you take someone hostage, the idea is that you have a strong bargaining position to get your demands met. This is because the person or people you are making demands from have feelings for the hostage you take and do not want that hostage harmed. The drawback of that plan is that you can't kill or release your hostage because you eliminate your only bargaining chip.

This means you have to abuse the hostage to play on the sympathies of the people whom care for the hostage so you can get your demands met.

This is why the Tea Party strategy to take the American people hostage is insane. They can't make demands from a government that does not negotiate with hostage takers, they can't kill the hostage or they lose the very objectives they are trying to achieve and they can't let the hostage go to get what they want in later negotiations because then they can't say "Well do it our way or else!"

So they have to keep and torture the hostage until the government and the people it represents can't take any more. And so they are. They make sure the people they care about are safe, (The wealthy donors and military which votes about 85% conservative.) while torturing the hostages that they don't care about. (Small business owners,  low income families, single mothers, at risk children and the main liberal base of America.)

This is a strategy which they will continue until it explodes with a deficit breach. A plan the Republican party has already started to prepare their base for saying "it's not as bad as it sounds."

Well being thrown into a volcano isn't as bad as it sounds either. But it's still not something you want to happen to you.

But it's what the Tea Party wants to do to the American people. It's what the Tea Party wants to do to the United States government.
And it looks like that's exactly what it is going to happen.

The United States government is shutdown. Soon it's debt will be in default.

How did we get here? It's quite simple. The Tea Party.
The Tea Party are not politicians. Politicians negotiate.
The Tea Party are not Statesmen. Statesmen try to do what's right for the greater good.
The Tea Party are not strategists. Strategists have a way out.
So what are the members of the Tea Party? They are terrorists.

They are trying to destroy America and it's Government. They simply do not want the United States Government to survive this crisis. The wanted the government shut down. They want the United States to default on it's debt. Why?

Their wealthy backers want the government out of the way so they can grab more, if not total, power over the United States and it's people.

How do I know this? Well let's look at the events of the past few weeks. Actually let's go back a bit further to the 2008 Presidential election. The Republican party lost the office to a very popular liberal with ties to big business and planed to bring equality to the American people's wildly unequal health care system. He would also reign in big businesses that regularly damage the environment and funnel money away from working families and into their own coffers. He planed to allow tax loopholes put in place by the previous administration lapse so the super wealthy did not pay less of a percentage in taxes than struggling lower income families and he planned to make sure regulatory branches of the government were funded well enough to avoid such disasters as the massive deep water horizon oil spill in the gulf of Mexico that poured 4.2 million gallons of crude oil into the ocean every day for 87 days. That's about 21 times more than the Exxon Valdez spilled into the Pacific.

Surely a man with goals like these and the means to achieve them could not be allowed to do so. And thus the Tea Party was born. It's biggest two founders? The Koch brother's. Two of the world's wealthiest mean with companies that would have to clean up their acts if President Obama was not dealt with.

Their strategy? First take the state legislatures in as many blue states with liberal districts as they can. Why? Because the States get to redraw congressional districts every 10 years after the census and 2010 was fast approaching.
Second, take the majority of seats in the House of Representatives.
Third, make a demand that the democratic party and the President would never be able to agree on. They got the perfect ammunition in 2010 when the House and Senate passed the Affordable Healthcare act and the President signed it into law and the Supreme Court of the United States said it was constitutional.
No rational person, let alone a seasoned representative of the people would agree to undo a law that would bring healthcare to millions of people who desperately need it in exchange for not destroying the economy of the United States and many other countries around the world.
That would be exactly like bowing to a terrorist threat. The United States government doesn't do that. It would be catastrophic in both the short and long terms.

So...Why redraw the congressional districts? Because if you have a strong democratic district surrounded by heavily conservative districts, you can split the democratic district in two or three or even four sections and blend the smaller parts into the larger conservative districts instantly changing the voting outcome of the next election.

For example. Let's say you have a state with 7 congressional districts. 5 of them are heavily conservative and 2 of them heavily democratic. Let's say that the 5 conservative districts each have 100,000 conservative voters and only 20,000 democratic voters and each democratic district has 100,000 democrats and 20,000 conservatives.
If you redraw the lines splitting each of those 2 democratic districts in half and merging each half with the conservative districts to evenly spread out democratic voters you end up with 7 districts the each have around 114,000 conservative voters and 42,000 democratic voters. this means that the two house seats in this state previously held by democrats will now easily go republican in every future election for at least a generation. The State goes from being 5 republicans and 2 democrats in the House to 7 republicans.

That's how the Republican party and about 30 Tea Party candidates took the house in 2012. Firmly accomplishing step 2 of the plan to destroy America.

Now that they control the majority of the house they control the agenda in the house. No bill can be brought up for a vote without the Speaker of the House making it happen. They don't have a two thirds majority. So they can not override the President should he veto an unpopular bill, but they have another very powerful tool at their disposal. The ability to prevent ANY bill they do not like from ever coming to a vote.

And so that brings us to step 3. Pick a topic the other side could not negotiate on and then require them to negotiate under threat of a government shutdown and a default on America's debt.

And they had their strategy in place months in advance. They initially tried to do it in March of 2013, but cooler heads among the Republican party's more experience members kept it from being realized. But as the October 1st deadline approached, Congressman Cruz from Texas forced the leadership's hand and publicly announced the Republican party would not vote to fund the United States government unless a single concession was met. Defund Obamacare.

And so they attached a bill to the budget defunding Obamacare, knowing full well no sane politician in the Senate would allow that attachment to remain. And so it went. Back and forth from House to Senate. The House Republicans using their slim majority to attach a bill to the budget that defunded the healthcare for millions of Americans and the Senate removing the attachment and sending it back to the House telling them to pass the Continuing Resolution clean as it the job of the House of Representatives.

But this is, of course, exactly what the Tea Party wanted. They would not stop making an impossible demand on the democratic party all the while screaming to the press that they just want to negotiate on Obamacare.

Well here is the crazy part of their argument. There were negotiations on Obamacare. in 2009,2010,2011,2012 and 2013. There were also concessions on Obamacare by the democrats. They did not get the bill they wanted. They got a compromised bill both sides agreed they could live with. Both sides voted on it. A straight Yes or No vote without any partisan attachments. It passed in both the House and the Senate. It was signed into Law and it was judged constitutional by the highest court in the land.

So when the Tea Party says that the President and the Democrats won't negotiate, it's an insane argument. What they really mean is that the President won't abandon the health care plan entirely. Nor should he. It was passed by non-partisan vote and signed into law in full, to the letter, accordance with the constitution of the United States.

But the democrats and the President both have said they are willing to talk about Obamacare. That they are willing to talk about ANYTHING the Republican party wants. But not with a gun to their head. That's not the way our government is run.

But this is how the Tea Party is run.

And this is what the Tea Party and their wealthy backers want. In about 9 more days the United States will for the first time in History, not pay it's creditors. The value of the U.S. dollar will plummet, the interest the United States pays to it's creditors will skyrocket and our country will be thrown into another Depression like what took place in the 1920's. Millions will be without work, healthcare, food and housing. Crime will increase at an exponential rate and all the while the wealthiest among us will get more wealthy.

Make no mistake. The Tea Party is here to bring down our country and replace it with a feudal system of super wealthy owners and impoverished servants.
